Mark Berger

Many of Mark’s skills were developed as he produced and/or directed numerous short films and documentaries that have received major grants, been shown at film festivals around the country and broadcast on PBS.

Most notably, Mark’s documentary film that chronicles the quest of a Latino teenager named “Jose” to meet Presidential candidate and syndicated columnist Pat Buchanan at the 1996 Republican National convention in San Diego titled “Too Many Joses” was supported by a regional grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and acquired byWGBH-TV (Boston) for broadcast TV.

Mark has held positions in almost every facet of the documentary production process including: director, producer, researcher, grant writer, line producer, production manager, sound recorder, sound editor, cinematographer, editor, and on-line editor.

Mark Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the USC School of Cinema-Television. Since 1998, Mark has worked as an Online Marketer & Producer for various companies including Sega GamesParamount Digital Entertainment, Internal & External Communications, AppNet (acquired by CommerceOne), Veon(acquired by Philips), Annie’sStockTrak, and now Berger & Fries where he produced content and applications for clients such as ViacomSonyHBOSkechersPatheLVMHHyundaiDENSO,and Wyle Systems. Mark’s skill set includes a comprehensive tool box for creating, developing and promoting Web sites that show high Return on Investment (ROI), and consumer satisfaction. His technical skill set includes programming in X/HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, PHP, Perl, various databases, Web Analytics, and the analysis of business needs to find unique technical solutions.

In his political career, Mark served as the Campaign Director for John Saler’s bid to be Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania (1993); the Legislative Correspondent for US Senator Harris Wofford (1991-93) ; and the Campaign Director for the California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) (1991) in Santa Barbara. Mark has attended 4 National Political Conventions since 1984 when he started as a page on the floor of the Democratic National convention in San Francisco.
